Project no. 1: Casino

As part of the redevelopment of the Heritage Treasury Casino in Brisbane, Echo Entertainment recently carried out demolition of an existing site to cater for construction of the new Luke Nyuhen restaurant, Fat Noodle. Buildcorp Interiors QLD were appointed as the principal contractor for this challenging project and Aizer Electrical Solutions was successful in being awarded the electrical services package.

The Treasury Casino is a 24 hour operating environment which is also a heritage listed building. This represented an extremely challenging site that required communication with both client and end user along with technical and project management capabilities to successfully complete project works. A short project timeframe and poor documentation of existing reticulation and services also added to the complexity of this project.

Aizer Electrical Solutions successfully completed all contract works to an extremely high standard within project timelines. Through consultation and strict management of the project we were able to deliver successful outcomes for all parties concerned. A highlight of our performance on this project was being added to the preferred contractors list directly by The Casino due to the quality displayed.

Project no. 2: DHA

Defence Housing Australia recently went to tender for the air conditioning of company owned residential properties throughout the country. This involved a lengthy and detailed tender evaluation period where submitting companies were required to satisfy both price and non price based criteria before being short listed and ultimately awarded the contract. Aizer Electrical Solutions prepared submission for QLD and was the successful tenderer in this state.

A key requirement of this contract was for the contractor to project manage every facet of the works. This extended to assessing each site and providing design of each installation at every property through to the supply and installation of all equipment and materials to carry out the works. Communication with an external quality assurance consulting team was also a key component of the project.

Aizer Electrical Solutions completed the installation of over 1,000 air conditioning systems across more than 250 properties and was ultimately successful in delivering the project to Government. All works were completed to a high standard within all set parameters and practical completion was received prior to predetermined dates. This program demonstrates the project management capabilities of Aizer.

Project no. 3: Ex Cyclone Oswald

During the week of the 20th – 27th of January Ex tropical cyclone passed down the eastern coast of Queensland resulting in well over $1 billion worth of estimated damage and culminating in the single biggest claim event in Queensland history. As a preferred builder for two of Queensland’s largest insurers Aizer Building Solutions was asked to provide an emergency response to secure at risk properties in multiple regions across the state. We were then able to rapidly upscale resources to enable us to complete onsite assessments and reports and quickly communicate this information back to our clients. The resultant repairs were required to be completed quickly and economically without significant increases on existing service level agreements or repair costs. In this time Aizer was able to accept and complete approx. 1500 claims in total and provide a continuity of service expected during normal day to day activities.

Project no. 4: Brisbane Floods

In January 2011 Brisbane and surrounding areas were affected by the worst flooding on record since 1974. An estimated 20,000 homes were inundated causing significant damage to property and disrupting state and federal services. During this time Aizer Building Solutions was engaged by Lend Lease, Suncorp Group of companies project managers, to take part in the ensuing repairs. The extent of damage was severe and caused major disruption to the lives of those involved. With this in mind Aizer was asked to provide suitable resources to ensure that we could start and complete repairs in a timeframe that would put families back into their homes without major disruption. Over a period of 6 months Aizer completed an estimated $5 million worth of repairs to around 250 properties. Work involved strip out and sanitisation, electrical and plumbing repairs, internal refurbishment, carpentry and cabinetmaking as well as an external rectification. With access to in house trades and access to a multitude of external contractors we were able to adequately respond in a timeframe which was mutually beneficial to our insurance clients as well as those families affected.

Project no. 6: Sorrento

In a quiet cul-de-sac in one of the Gold Coasts most exclusive suburbs, Aizer Group was able to transform this 30year old home into a luxurious waterfront hideaway. Despite being situated in close proximity to the bustling Surfers Paradise, this architecturally-designed home is set well back from the road and is fully enclosed from street-view, such that upon entering the property one would be forgiven for believing they were miles away from the Gold Coast Action.

Any project incorporating such simple, classic design requires stringent attention to detail, as much of the overall quality lies in the finishing touches. Aizer Group has given this family home a new lease on life, setting quite a standard for Gold Coast waterfront living (as seen QLD homes winter edition)

Project no. 7: Aged Care

Leading Aged Care Provider tried over several months to overcome the Kitchen & Laundry access and associated WH&S limitations. Aizer provided confirmations to various proposals and with the assistance of Laser Technology Aizer proved a compliant service ramp (1:14) could fit in the confined footprint between buildings, associated walkways, service lines & buried fixtures & fittings. The order was placed upon this confirmation with an urgency to avoid staff complaint and industrial issues.

Aizer was able to start promptly when all safety matters were addressed and with efficient workers, small sized equipment and a staged work program the project was quickly finished along with compliant custom made galv handrails. The associated trades involved demolition of concrete walkways, large trees removed, reinstated block retaining walls, drainage, electrical, concrete & piers, termite treatment, carpentry verandah work, landscaping, protection of services, new covered pergola, rendering & painting of structures.

Project no. 8: Hotel

An International Resort Chain wished to expand their G/Coast Sales Centre by taking over an adjacent commercial tenancy. Having successfully completed the initial fitout Aizer was approached and was on-site the same day to enter a select tender process. Aizer won the tender & entered a contract at 3pm Friday afternoon with a commencement timeframe of the following Monday. The project required a 5 week demolition & fitout program including a refurbishment to the original Stage 1 tenancy. Aizer met these conditions and the Sales staff was ecstatic with the result. Project included Demolition & new wall openings, build up stages, podiums, Manager’s desk (stone top & cabinetry), staff room & sales fitout cabinetry & acrylic displays, alum/glass office partitioning, carpet, vinyl flooring, electrical/data/ lighting, fire sprinkler & detection system upgrade, new internal walls & doors.

Project no. 9: Mirvac Townsville

The Aizer Group was approached by one of Australia’s leading brands in the development and construction industry to provide ongoing building maintenance and repair solutions for their development in Townsville, North Queensland. High levels of communication is a must with projects such as this due to the multiple parties involved – owners, tenants, resident managers, project coordinators and trade staff all need to be on the same page. Our North Queensland Area manager handled this effectively and his constant communication with all parties involved ensured that timely repairs were carried out with the least possible amount of stress for residents.

With this ongoing project Aizer has been able to display their wide range of skill sets as the required works entailed multiple aspects of building maintenance;

nternal works carried out to the apartments include plumbing maintenance & repair, waterproofing & shower membrane repairs, plaster repairs & painting, Floor tile repairs & complete replacement with acoustic insulation.

External works carried out include render and spalling repairs, block wall and slab seepage repairs, environmentally friendly external house wash downs, curtain wall glazing leak repairs, residential window leak repairs, balcony leak repairs, balcony ponding and tile bedding repairs, demobilization of site offices including landscape repairs, site clearing and back blading.

Further works currently at planning stage involve commercial irrigation systems and sales office demolition.

Working with a high profile industry leader requires first class safety documentation and procedures which the Aizer Group was able to provide. Our effective handling of the works involved, high level of communication with all involved parties and compliance with current top level safety guidelines and regulations have ensured an excellent working relationship with this client, and this has led to further works for the Aizer Group on their similar developments in Brisbane and on the Gold Coast.

Project no. 10: Aged Care

Aged Care Provider encountered a non-compliance with their certified multi-story nursing home in regards to various building works and ventilation fire dampers within the ducted ventilation systems. Aizer was approached to address the access points where the hidden fire dampers were installed. Aizer provided the required volume of access panels (48) into the walls & ceilings as well as at each duct point to enable annual inspections to meet the fire code. Once these access panels were in place Aizer arranged for certified specialists to audit all fire dampers. Audit results proved every fire damper was non-compliant & Aizer provided the costing to rectify which was carried out effectively to gain the required urgent safety for their residents & staff plus meeting their annual accreditation standards for fire related systems.
